About
I have been practicing clinical social work for over seven years. I have experience working in numerous clinical settings, including day treatment centers, college campuses, rape crisis centers, inpatient hospitals, and private practice. I have in-depth knowledge and expertise in substance abuse and eating disorder treatment. I also specialize in Family Therapy.
I have supervised social workers in graduate school internships and professional LGSWs working towards their clinical license.
My goals as a Clinical Social Work Supervisor are to enhance the supervisee's knowledge breadth, clinical skills, and decision-making abilities, without directly telling the supervisee how to handle cases. I see my role as a facilitator of growth, not as an authority. Clinical Supervision should be a learning process in which the supervisee feels free to ask questions, make mistakes, and be vulnerable.
In supervision sessions, we will discuss clinical cases, as well as personal concerns regarding clinical ability, ethical dilemmas, professional work difficulties, life/work balance, and self-care.
Being a social worker is not an easy job; Clinical Supervision will help you navigate the journey.
